Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion is an astringent and sebum-regulating toner infused with botanical extracts. Much like the classic Cucumber Lotion from the brand, it helps oily skin to rebalance, with the additional benefit of also accelerating the healing of existing breakouts thanks to a sulfur-rich formulation. First and foremost, as the name implies, it uses cucumber extract to soothe irritation and counteract inflammatory cycles. This vegetable also has clinically proven oil-balancing abilities, helping to regulate the excess sebum and minimize the appearance of dilated pores. Last but not least, cucumber is one of the rare botanical extracts whose fragrant components are not sensitizing to the skin, allowing most complexions to enjoy a refreshing experience. Therefore, it is the ideal prepping step for a skincare routine that aims to restore pureness and balance after congestion flare-ups.

Main Ingredients

Cucumber is a nutritious and very water-rich vegetable. Besides 95% water, it contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C), caffeic acid (an antioxidant), fatty acids, the mineral silica, plus other trace minerals. Due to its antioxidant activity, cucumber is a beneficial addition to a wrinkle-preventive routine;
Propylene glycol is a weightless humectant. It is the main source for allowing the formula of this toner to remain effective and enlarge its shelf life. It acts in two different phases. First of all, it helps the nutrients in the product to absorb faster and deeper into the skin, making it spread evenly. In a second phase, it attracts a sufficient amount of water into deeper layers of it, keeping the barrier healthy.

How to use

Apply Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion twice daily onto a freshly cleansed and towel-dry face. Firstly, soak a cotton pad with the product and sweep around either the whole face (on flare-up episodes) or only the T-zone (on combination skin), avoiding the delicate skin around the eyes. Alternatively, pat the product directly with the palms of clean hands and then proceed with a suitable skincare routine. In addition, store the bottle in the fridge to boost its cooling and decongesting effect on the skin. Avoid the application on the eye area. If the product accidentally gets into the eyes, rinse them well with water.
